Nowadays computers are finding themselves
migrating to the lounge room as more and more people are
finding the benefits of mp3s and DVD burners etc. Operating
your PC in this environment has always been a bit clumsy, but
we think this hot gadget may just be the answer.
The Streamzap Remote is a remote control for your PC, it will
let you play MP3s, watch DVDs and TV, or listen to Internet
radio all without leaving the comfort of your couch. The
Streamzap remote comes with the remote handpiece of course, as
well as a little black box which is the IR receiver. The IR
receiver is a USB device that lets your handpiece control your
windows applications, small in size it would sit nicely next
your amplifier or VCR if you wanted to hide your PC away
behind your TV.
Set up of the Streamzap it apparently very easy, the remote
supports over 120 applications, including all of the popular
multimedia applications, such as Windows Media Player, iTunes,
RealOne, Winamp, PowerPoint, MusicMatch Jukebox, WinTV, WinDVD,
and PowerDVD to name a few.
The Streamzap remote is an economical alternative to a common
problem when wanting to set up a home theatre PC. TV tuner and
video card's with TV out capabilities are now becoming the
norm at local computer shops, software to control all these
gadgets is starting to emerge like the open source myhtpc or
even Microsoft's Windows XP media centre edition. We expect
the Streamzap to blend in perfectly with the average home
theatre PC.
